About YUNEV
A Principal‑Led Advisory Firm
YUNEV is an independent, principal‑led advisory focused on high‑consequence commercial vehicle electrification and advanced powertrain programs.
We work with senior leadership teams when high-stakes programs carry material execution risk — where early assumptions, supplier commitments, architecture choices, and market timing can determine outcomes long before failure is visible.
YUNEV is intentionally lean. We do not operate as a traditional consulting firm, maintain a staffed bench, or sell execution capacity. Our role is to apply experienced judgment, pattern recognition, and disciplined analysis to architecture, supply chains, and readiness decisions at moments where clarity and alignment matter most.
Leadership
Kevin Beaty
Founder & Principal
Kevin Beaty is the Founder and Principal of YUNEV - an independent advisory focused on execution risk and readiness in commercial vehicle electrification and advanced powertrain programs.
Kevin’s advisory perspective is rooted first and foremost in lived operating accountability. He spent more than a decade at Eaton Corporation (NYSE: ETN), where he led and scaled the company’s hybrid electric powertrain business from inception through global truck and bus OEM commercialization. That work delivered global majority market share in its served hybrid segments with strong margins, high reliability and safety performance, and warranty costs at or below plan — results achieved under real-world cost, timing, and customer constraints.
Prior to Eaton, Kevin held technical and leadership roles at Woodward (NASDAQ: WWD) and Southwest Research Institute (SwRI), working on advanced powertrain controls, systems integration, and alternative-fuel programs. The Woodward role included commercializing new engine control technology and products with global engine and bus OEMs.
Decades of end-to-end product and business cycle ownership under commercialization pressure now directly inform Kevin’s advisory work. Having lived the downstream consequences of early technical, sourcing, and market assumptions, he helps investors, boards, and senior operating leaders identify non-obvious execution risk before decisions harden and options narrow.
How YUNEV is Structured
YUNEV is designed to remain independent, selective, and effective.
Engagements are led directly by the Principal, ensuring continuity, accountability, and senior‑level judgment throughout the work. When additional expertise is required, YUNEV draws on a curated network of trusted industry specialists — assembled purposefully to address specific decision contexts rather than provide generalized delivery capacity.
This model avoids the delays and cost often associated with traditional consulting structures, while preserving access to deep, domain‑specific expertise when it materially improves outcomes.
Continuous Market Immersion
YUNEV maintains continuous proximity to the commercial vehicle electrification and powertrain market through active industry engagement, supplier interaction, and ongoing analysis of technology, policy, and competitive dynamics.
This exposure to suppliers, OEM programs, and deployment realities grounds our advisory work. It ensures that recommendations reflect current realities around battery availability, supplier behavior, validation timelines, regulatory environments, infrastructure availability, and customer adoption.
